The Platinum EVE is platinum-grey on red. This is the EVE that recognises balance of both gender and highly proficient L1/L2 speakers across an ELT event’s plenary line-up. At the end of the year, when deciding on the EVEs of the Year, the balance present in the keynotes at a conference or event will also be taken into account. Where an event has no plenaries or keynotes, as may be the case, for example, with a web event, balance across all sessions will be the basis for the recognition.
The organisers of an ELT conference or event with a finalised line-up which meets the criteria described above will be able to contact the EVE Calendar to apply for inclusion on the calendar. We will add the event name, and hyperlink it to the organisation’s conference web page.
An event or conference whose finalised line-up meets our Platinum EVE criteria will be invited to display a grey and red EVE, which will be sent to them.
If you have organised an event for 2018 (or 2019) and you believe it meets the criteria, do contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and send us your finalised, published programme, a link to your event web page and a contact name and email, for us to get back to you.
As we are a voluntary initiative, there is no cost.
Disclaimer: an event displaying our Platinum EVE is being recognised for both gender and highly proficient L1 / L2 speaker balance across the plenary line-up. Should any last-minute changes be made owing to unforeseen circumstances, affecting the balance, the EVE should be removed, and replaced with the correct EVE (or no EVE). However, this may not always be possible, depending on circumstances. In this case, the EVE Calendar will be not responsible.
